Manufacture of pellet for molding fiber-reinforced resin article

Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the impregnating ability of a resin to fibers largely, to increase the speed of drawing at a time when a long-sized cylindrical resin composite article is drawan and to enhance the efficiency of molding and productive efficiency by using a reinforced fiber bundle to which bulkiness working for widening spaces among each fiber is executed. CONSTITUTION: A roving 10 and a bulked yarn 12 manufactured by executing bulkiness working are prepared, three of each roving and bulked yarn are united and dipped into a heated and melted 6 nylon resin 13, and passed through a cooling die 14, and a long-sized round bar having a diameter of 2.5mmϕ is pultruded continuously while being taken up by a take-up unit 16. The round bar is cut continuously by a cutter 18, thus manufacturing long fiber pellets 20 in length of 9mm. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
